YMCA Cincinnati Rope Twisters
"The sport of Double Dutch is blossoming into one in which youth of every background can develop and display their skills. The YMCA Cincinnati Rope Twisters League formed in 1992 following successful Double Dutch programs launched at branches such as the West End YMCA which began in 1986. Girls and boys from kindergarten through high school participate in this year long opportunity. Youth travel both in and out of state as they participate and/or perform in demonstrations, city/state/world competitions and workshops. Drug awareness, Social Skills, Teen pregnancy and even hygiene are all topics presented in a Double Dutch forum. Cincinnati YMCA leaders have realized from the beginning that the heightening of athletic ability is only one need that the Double Dutch League could address."

2007-2008 Season
Registration for the 2007-2008 Double Dutch season has closed. If you were not able to participate this year we look forward to hearing from you during our next season. Open Registration will begin towards the end of August 2008. Current fees are $75.00 (members) and $85.00 (non-members) - subject to change. Jumpers are given shoes and a T-Shirt to keep. Uniforms are provided for competitions. Jumpers range from Kindergarten to High School. Jumpers compete on one of 3 levels (beginner, intermediate or advanced). Beginner jumpers compete individually and are given the opportunity to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place based on their skill in compulsary and speed. Intermediate and Advanced jumpers compete in both the City and State competition. They compete against other teams based upon grade level. Each team is comprised of 3 jumpers (singles) or 4 jumpers (doubles). Based upon the State competition results the 1st place teams may be invited to compete at the World competition held in Sumter, SC in June 2008.
Jumpers learn to work together as a team and they learn basic to advanced jumping skills. Academics are highly stressed in our program. We encourage parent participation. Parents are also given the opportunity to learn judging skills as we compete in our local competiitions. We have started off this year with great enthusiasm. We look forward to having an eventful season.
